ecovlke's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My Third Daughter My Third Daughter Today is my third daughter's 11th birthday. She is Hopi/Creek/Osage. She went through a Hopi naming ceremony when she was born and has 11 Hopi names. Her middle name is Creek, Ecoce, which means little deer. She is of the Hopi's Coyote Clan. When she visits her grandma out in Arizona on the Hopi reservation, she gets to go to the ceremonies. I have some pictures of her in her Hopi dress with her hair done up in the traditional squashblossom hair style. She has a large Katchina doll collection, and I am glad her mother is traditional and passes this on to her. When she is here, I take her to as many Creek functions as I can. She is the daughter that I've spent the most time with. Her birthday is the latest in the year of all my 5 children. She is very smart and quite a little ham. She has a very good sense of humor and she keeps me laughing. She has successfully gone through her Pokemon phase and is now bigtime into Spongebob Squarepants. She's got me hooked on him too. She comes to visit everyother weekend and we have a lot of fun swordfighting and just acting crazy. A few months back I went to watch her compete in the Little Olympics. She got a Third Place Ribbon for the Frisbe Toss, and we went to see Spongebob at Wal-Mart. When she was really little she was into Thomas The Tank Engine and we went to see Thomas when he was in town. She starts her first year in Middle School this fall. Like me, she does real well in her classes except she has trouble with math. She is artistic, creative, and enjoys doing magic tricks. She has a huge stuffed animal collection. Her real animals are a cat and a Miniature Doberman Pinscher. She loves penguins and would have a real one of those if she could. I love her very much and I am very proud of her.
